Success
NOV 21200018:24:00 UTCEarth Observing-1 was the first flight of NASA's New Millennium Program, sent up to prove a dozen new spacecraft technologies in orbit. Its headline instrument, Hyperion, was the first spaceborne hyperspectral imager, resolving 220 spectral bands where Landsat managed a handful, and it flew in formation with Landsat 7 to compare the two. The shared launch also carried Argentina's SAC-C Earth-observation satellite.
