2001 Mars Odyssey
Success
APR 07200115:02:00 UTCMars Odyssey reached Mars orbit in October 2001 and went on to detect vast reservoirs of hydrogen just below the surface, the signature of buried water ice across much of the planet. It later became the workhorse relay for the rovers and landers on the surface and the longest-running spacecraft ever to operate at another planet.
