Jason-1

Jason-1 took over the precision ocean-altimetry record begun by TOPEX/Poseidon, tracking sea-surface height and ocean circulation from a repeating ground track shared with its predecessor. The flight also carried NASA's TIMED probe to study the upper atmosphere, and it marked the 100th launch of the Delta II.
