ASLV
Indian small-lift solid-fuel orbital rocket
ISRO's transitional rocket between the SLV and PSLV — two SLV strap-ons bolted to an SLV core to triple its payload. Three of its four launches failed between 1987 and 1992. The programme was quietly dropped in favour of the PSLV, which became the rocket ISRO actually needed.
