Kaituozhe
Chinese missile-derived solid-fuel small-lift orbital rocket
A small solid-fuel launcher developed by CASIC from the DF-21 IRBM. Both Kaituozhe-1 launches, in 2002 and 2003, failed to reach orbit, and that version was cancelled. A larger Kaituozhe-2 reached orbit from Jiuquan with the Tiankun-1 satellite in March 2017.
