Japanese licence-built Delta orbital rocket

A Delta built in Japan under licence: McDonnell Douglas designed it, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries built it, and the space agency NASDA flew it seven times from Tanegashima between 1975 and 1982. In 1977 it launched Kiku-2, NASDA's first geostationary satellite. Its one failure came in 1979, when the satellite and the third stage collided after separation.
