German small-lift hybrid-propellant orbital rocket

A German startup born out of university research at DLR, HyImpulse is building Europe's first orbital hybrid rocket — burning paraffin wax and liquid oxygen instead of conventional liquid fuels. The three-stage SL1 is designed to carry up to 500 kg to sun-synchronous orbit, with first launch planned from Esrange in Sweden.
