ESCAPADE
The ESCAPADE mission consists of two identical spacecraft, Blue and Gold, designed to study Mars' magnetosphere. This mission is part of NASA's Small Innovative Missions for Planetary Exploration (SIMPLEx) program.
The launch also served as the second National Security Space Launch demonstration flight for New Glenn and included a ViaSat InRange Communication demonstrator attached to the second stage.
The first stage landed successfully on the Jacklyn drone ship - the first New Glenn booster recovery - making New Glenn the second family of orbital rockets to achieve autonomous drone-ship landing after SpaceX's Falcon 9.
