Jupiter C
American Redstone-derived suborbital research rocket
A Redstone fitted with two solid upper stages to test re-entry nose cones for the Jupiter missile. All three flights succeeded; the August 1957 mission was the first to recover a nose cone after a trip through space — the same hardware later became Juno I.
