Start-1
Russian ICBM-derived solid-fuel small-lift orbital rocket
A decommissioned Topol ICBM repurposed as a small satellite launcher, Start-1 launched from a mobile erector — the same transporter the missile used in the field. Five flights between 1993 and 2006; the last carried an Israeli Earth-observation satellite before the programme ended for lack of commercial demand.
