Shavit

updated 2 days ago

Israeli small-lift solid-fuel orbital rocket

Shavit is the world's only orbital rocket that flies west — Israel can't launch east without overflying its neighbours, so every Shavit lifts off from Palmachim out over the Mediterranean, against Earth's rotation. Its first two stages are derived from the Jericho ballistic missile.

We track every Shavit launch.
